Go on a Holiday with Veet Competition

maggie and milly and molly and mae

by e.e.cummings

maggie and milly and molly and mae
went down to the beach (to play one day)
and maggie discovered a shell that sang
so sweetly she couldn't remember her troubles, and
milly befriended a stranded star
whose rays five languid fingers were;
and molly was chased by a horrible thing
which raced sideways while blowing bubbles: and
mae came home with a smooth round stone
as small as a world and as large as alone.
For whatever we lose (like a you or a me)
it's always ourselves we find in the sea.

The beach has always had a special place in my heart. Something about the sand caressing your feet or the gentle waves hugging the shoreline and the sun illuminating the skies in brilliant displays.

Gosh I need a holiday, one with my girlfriends like  maggie and milly and molly and mae  just being together doing silly things and having fun. In fact anywhere would do, beach or city. Wouldn't you like a holiday too? To get away just for awhile?

Well instead of waiting for a miracle, Veet is going to play Fairy God Mother!

Imagine this, you and 3 of your girlfriends going on an adventure together. Either in the city ala sex in the city or at the sun kissed beach each worth RM3000!

All it takes is a little fairy dust and

My Muse

I've never had a muse. Sure I have meet many inspiring people. Talented souls who are ever so nice to share their talents in all forms and manner. But recently I was struck so hard, I was surprised myself. It took awhile for the fan girls hormone to simmer down as I sorted out my feelings.  Indeed he was my muse. Who is he?

Mr Benedict Cumberbatch. Picture credits got to http://benedictcumberbatch.co.uk do follow them on Twitter for the latest news. They do the stalking for you.

Before you scoff let me just state a few reasons why.

I've always been partial to men of brilliance and of the arts. I'm sure you could wiki his whole life history so I shall not go into it. By the way here is the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benedict_Cumberbatch

Only recently I took notice of him in Sherlock. It's not showing in Malaysia, which would explain my frustration that not enough people know about him and they jolly well should.

Playing a hero with flaws which we all love to love and hate, this Byronic character enticed and toys with your emotions and minds which of course the latter being more titillating. The cast and the people behind it has a special bond. You can feel it through the seamless chemistry on the show.

Here are a few points which attracted me to him.

His Name
Benedict Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch, or Benedict Cumberbatch  is quite a mouthful. But it really is a special name. I was made fun of when I was young, being called Gorilla when my actual name was Gloria. But I'm glad to see that growing up while being teased "bendy d*ck come on my babs" can really built such a character. And what a stunning character he is. I wonder how did he reacted then? I just kept quiet and ignored my bullies and the teasing eventually stopped.

His Look
He is rather dashing, that can't be denied. But instead of cashing in on it at an early age and elope into the entertainment business, he stuck to his studies. Mind you he was already keen into acting at a young age, his parents were accomplished actors in their days. What I like most is the way he carries himself. His body posture. Gosh, I do have a thing for good postures.

In this video you could still see the endearing awkwardness about him that youth always comes attached with.

But now there is this quiet confidence about him that oozes so naturally. He tries to plays it down with his wit and humility. Which only highlights his character even more. Well played.

His Voice
This was the clincher for me. Being classically trained his voice has always been so inviting. But listening to some of his readings now. Oh my. It is as if he know, with each word that slips through his golden lips lies the key to unlocking a listeners heart. The deep steady baritone resonated in my heart the 1st time I heard him read this...

From education to theatre to radio dramas, TV screens and now coming soon to the big screen. I'm glad he took his time to seal his foundation. He really is a rock solid thespian.

Oh by the way he has a lisp that was more pronounced in his earlier years. Being a linguist myself I simply find it so mesmerisingly fascinating. Definitely another good example in my effort to help improve the level of English among the youth in my little neck of the woods.

So here is my open letter/ YouTube video to him. My brain has not caught up to my mouth so be warned.

Now you know why he is my muse. He brings back memories of me reading to my dad behind his back. Not just a pretty face but a man of pure talent which he has successfully polished into a diamond. Mark my words, he is a man to watch out for. Some day he would join the ranks of the Sirs of great Britain. But for now, to me at least, he is my muse.

P/S: Teddy Ben finds it amusing and probably a little bit jealous but not threatened in the very least be cause he still thinks I'm just a fan girl far far away. Maybe I am just another a fan but shall try to restraint my self and be a poised respectable one. Mind you that takes alot of mental strength. Why? Here's why...

Double woot!

I've been a bad bad blogger. So much has happened that I felt overwhelmed. Recently I have been very much inspired but the people of which I wish to consult with are either stangers to me or...are dead. My inspiration came from a muse, a very talented one. But I shall not speak of him yet until I've sorted out my feelings.

Though busy with work I've mustered up some courage to undertake some more serious fashion shots.
Here they are, of my recent retail therapy. Comments on the clothes and pictures are very much welcomed.

"I have an addiction, but it's not a problem" is a quote from House which applies to my love for online shopping. Recently I've discovered a new online shop which caters to my more refined taste and modest walet size.

This is one of my all time favourite dress. At first glance it looks familiar non? That's because this little number was inspired by a dress Kate Middleton wore to meet the Obamas. From the front I love how the fabric overlays the tummy in a disappearing act.

Here is the money shot. Yes, I have a bum and I love it! Teddy Ben approves smugly. Flaunt what you've got I always say. And this dress does just that.

I like the quiet sensuality this dress exudes. I could dress it up for office, it would fit in nicely for a cocktail or high tea session with the gals and at night I could let my hair down and dance the night away.

Regarding the picture, I won't go into technicalities because well, I can't but what I can say is that I like how the light is hitting my face and the highlight of the front of my body I feel adds to the drama on the back. Proportion is nice but sadly my hands were off the frames.

Posing wise, like Tyra always says "find the light" and model H2T: Head to toe and add that little bootie tooch when it's a behind shot.

Secretly I long to direct a shoot. Sort of like Mr Jay of ANTM. But I'm no where near his level and I'm not even properly educated in the fashion industry. But what I do know is that I have a certain taste which I need to polish and developed.

Next is a cute little number. Match it with a cute cropped bolero and you are office ready. And look POCKETS! I don't know about you but I love pockets. I hadn't know about it until the 1st time I took it off and saw the lining inside. Yes, from the outside it is stealthily hidden. Perfect for concealing items when in a pinch. Love the warm colours and well placed horrizontal lines play up the bust area while the hips play a more demure colour, perfect for my pear body shape.

New Camera location and angle. The body ratio of the first picture is a little off, my legs seems a little stumpy and I didn't play with the light. Where as the second picture is not as focused as I would have liked it. Would have preferred more neck on both.

The shop if you are interested is called Double Woot.
Here are their links
SHOP

Each item was under RM90. I would say are in the mid rage price bracket. Not exactly cheap but much better quality and style.

They consistently bring in new stock twice a week. Do follow their FB to get the updates. I simply love how they actually choose pieces and show you where the inspiration came from.

Another reason why I'm showing so much love is the fact that their based in Butterworth! Which is just a stones throw away from me. I do hope I can visit them one day. Perhaps after a nice bonus?

Oh they ship internationally too! How awesome is that?

So there you have it. Just sharing a wonderful new blogshop. Lets give Double Woot...double woots!
WOOT WOOT!

P/S: According to Teddy Ben, this is my garang/fierce face that I occasionally flash at him. Is it really that fierce? ^^
