Spanish Ham Delight

It's nice to receive presents especially around this time of the year. One of the best I got so far was from a lovely Spanish lady. And this is it.

*cue angelic choir singing*

A packed of jamon or pronounced HAMON or good old ham in English. It's also called prosciutto but the Spanish version is supposedly less salty than the Italian counterpart.

So here is a simple recipe to share.

Plump tomato to be diced.
Fluffy cream cheese.
Olive oil

Toasted bread of your choice for that extra crunch. And now we assemble.

Align the crunchy toasted bread.

I know it looked like Sky took a leak here, trust me it's just olive oil. Really.

Spread that creme cheese around.

Lay out the tomatoes. Diced, sliced or grilled up to your palate.

Put the jamon  on top. You could take a long piece and curl it to set on top or shread it into bite sized chunks

And there you have it, simple yet delicious treat to leave your mouth wanting more.

I decided to tweak the recipe a little so I added a small splash of red wine vinegar. Perhaps because my tomatoes were sweet so the vinegar really balanced out the overall taste.
Great for non halal parties or Christmas gatherings.

There you have it, Jamon.

Have a lovely December an remember, it's better to give than to receive.

P/S: Flying of to Melbourne today. Looking forward to meeting family, old and new friends and of course the great Aussie adventures we'll have!

Mini tong and Straightener Review.

Travelling and great hair styles have never gone hand in hand for me. I have thin and long hair. My styles often range from

  • high pony tail
  • low pony tail
  • side pony tail!
  • A little chic? BUNS

But given that I travel for work and often need to pack light I could't be bothered to pack too many things. I need to make some space for  clothes and souvenirs as well or risk facing the inquisition at home.

Hair bands are a savior to spruce up my limited hair repertoire. But packing them in a suitcase would risk breaking them into tiny sad pieces.

Until I heard about... the MINIS...

This is a sponsored review on MINI tong and MINI Straightener.

It looks suspicious. Would something this small work? Usually I would just go to a hair stylist before an event to add some bounce.

A pink straightener? I've seen these around the internet for really cheap price but I worry about the quality. But it's PINK! A challenge to resist.

With these in my modest arsenal, it might just open a whole new world of stylist travel.
Remember to spritz some heat protectant 1st.

Let's try...

OMG look at that curl! And this is my 1st time using one.
Almost as yummy as curly fries right? Next.

My hair is naturally straight. Often we covet what is on the other side.
Straight hairs wish they had natural curly ones while vice versa.
For me it depends on my mood.

Never have I thought my hair could be this straight and smooth.

Turns out this online store was launched in June 2010, featuring one of the best deals of international and local brand of hair & beauty products. They deliver worldwide.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, hairdressing.com.my is a domain of Tai Luen Trading Sdn. Bhd. that was established in 1980, where the origin of the business can be traced back to the 1950s in the town of Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. My town! I love them even more now.

  • ...
  • I can't really think of any. Perhaps an upgrade of the site for a more pleasing interface
  • I know it's cheap that's why it doesn't have a temperature display. But would be awesome if it did!

Pro
  • Fast delivery
  • International shipping
  • Free shipping with purchase of above RM100
  • Great packing so no fear of anything breaking or spilling

Really great for me as I live in a jungle in the north of Malaysia where great hair salons are not in abundance.

According to the great Violet, you can actually use the straightener to CURL! As seen in her video here.

Isn't she adorable?
I don't have the technique so hopefully she can teach me when I visit her in Melbourne this December.

I really should pick a style and stick to it next time. I can't go out looking like this >_<"
