Spa Review: Amouras

I think stress is a part of being human. No matter what we do, stress is there to push us to be better. Though a little respite from it is always more than welcome.

Especially during your holiday.
If you've missed the earlier part of my holiday in Holiday Villa and Resort Subang here they are.

Today let's go to the spa, shall we?

Holiday Villa Hotel and Resort Subang have their in house spa called Amoaras.
So there is no need to travel far for some body loving time when you are staying over at the hotel.

Down down down down down Oooo~ Oooo~

Opps picture of me going up actually. Yup we gotz da suites.

Amoaras is located on the ground floor.
Just follow the signs or ask a friendly staff.

Here we are...

Pretty fresh flowers floating on water.

Although situated in urban bustling Subang, you will be transported to idealic santuary

of chirping birds
and caressing shades
tickled by the fleeting rays of the sun
peeking between the foliage
.
.
.
.

Feeling calmer yet?

A quick registration and we are ushered into the room where relaxing magic happens.

Le bed.

Le girl

Le video.

Le flower power.

I think the floating flowers serve as a hypnotic device. Though my massage was only 30 minutes. I dozed off to what seemed like an hour and woke up feeling much unwound and a few kilogrammes lighter. Metaphorically speaking of course.

If you are staying in Holiday Villa Hotel and Resorts Subang or just feeling very stressed out around the area. Why not just pop in for a quickie?

Be sure that everything is comfortable and hanging in the right place.
Inhale and exhale slowly and deeply in this position for 5 minutes

Sunday Bonding: 3 hour bath!

I realise it's already late afternoon now. Just taking a break from house chores before attacking the toilet with my scrubs.

Usually I'm pretty lazy on Sundays. Arent we all? Well today has been quite productive given any other day.

Had doggie training this morning at 8 am for more than an hour. The trainer is a really nice man and well trained too. Sky has been behaving much better. No longer a sled dog pulling us during walks, now he can actually trot beside us with his tail in the air. Even with the discipline he does seem happier with some rules and boundaries. After that, some mucking about with the house work, it was time for the daunting bath.

It takes more then 3 hours from start to finish. I am talking about Sky. Huskies generally have really dense 2 layers of fur and when they shed, it's like White Christmas in Malaysia. Luckily for us, both our dogs love to bathe. It's like spa day for them as we lather and rise and scrub away.

To save electricity, we only bathe Sky on a sunny morning, letting mother nature take care of the evaporation. Then the brush. This too Sky likes. Certain parts tilckles him so much that his hind foot would start thumping for a good 5 minutes!

Ear cleaning is a must so that he doesn't get an itch and scratch till he draws blood. And lastly, the only part he dreads. Like a little boy he would squirm and run, whimper in distress as I hold him down with a mussel.

Yes, The mighty Sky is afraid of 2 drops of eye wash. Immediately after that ordeal, he's all fine! Wuss! So yes, it's a daunting task but it's a good time to bond and know your fur kids.
How about you, do you have a dog? Self bath or groomer?

Lastly before I go. This YouTube video by the ever inspiring and funny Wong Fu Productions.

I remember back in University when I would hang out with my firneds playing board games at a friends house, board game shops, or even fast food outlets or in a park in the dark. We were a lovely random bunch.

Munchkins, Risk and Settlers of Cattan were our staple and more recently Pandemic. No matter how the game went we always had a good laugh.

There is something about hangging out with someone and doing things together that brings a warm fuzzy feeling for me. It might be a chore like walking the dog or something fun like destroying your friends army in one turn.

Or perhaps it's just all the Husky fur I've inhaled >_<"

Enjoy the rest of you Sunday bonding and we'll see you here soon to hang out more. Okay?

Cheat one Curry Puff

Curry curry puff puff
Puffy puffy curry puff!~

I am no master chef. But I do like to tinker and experiment in the kitchen once in a while.
This is my Cheat One Curry Puff.

I made it. Really!
Sooo Pufffy!~
Where is the cheat you might ask?

Well it's canned sardines with potato and eggs instead of the usual curry filling.
And the puff pastry?

Store bought!
How awesome is that?

Recipe?
Make your preferred filling and follow the instructions behind on baking the pastry.
Oh all a glaze of butter or egg white or even milk on the top for a golden shiny effect.

Less than 1 hour later
.
.
.
PUFF!

I now see a whole new horizon with these store bought puff pastries.
Yes even in small town Kedah you can get puff paistry!

Praise the Lord!

UPDATE 8 August 2011: The cheat is that the pastry is store bought. I didn't make it.

My 1st Hater

It would seem that Bonjour Glow~* has it's very 1st hater!
*YEAY*

Wait...

I've always tried not to be controversial. That's just not my thing. Heck I don't even swear! I'm bad at confrontational situations too.

Being a blogger, I know I'm putting my self out there to be scrutinized by the eyes of many. That's why I try to be nice, because that's what my mom and dad taught me while growing up. Some people thrive on controversy.

Like Xia Xue, and she's good at it. I do admire her for her eloquence because that's who she it. We can't all be like her now can we.

Imagine my surprise when I receive my 1st hate mail. Okay so it was a message left in the chat box.

Halal (Arabic: حلالḥalāl, "lawful") is a term designating any object or an action which is permissible to use or engage in, according to Islamic law. The term is used to designate food seen as permissible according to Islamic law (Sharia, الشريعة الإسلامية). The opposite of this word is haraam.

*translation*
Why should you care if Starbucks is Halal or Haram. Only us who are Islam should care. If you want to educate those who are Islam don't eat in half Haram places... U understand?
If you are not an Islam don't talk smart about what is Halal Haram here and there. Better be quiet.
*end of translation*

It was directed at my post on my post on Starbucks.

I care because I have Muslim friends and I care about them.

Yes, I am fully aware I'm not a Muslim. But I understand how important the validity of a Halal establishment is to my Muslim friends. We often have meals together and it would bring me great pleasure to know that my friends are comfortable.

For you some places maybe haram but if you understand and accept that there are non muslims in this world then you would understand that it's not haram for us to patronize these places. Wait, is there even such a thing as separuh haram?
*Friend pointed out that perhaps this person is relating to the no pork no lard businesses*

What I had written was in an objective manner presented in a factual way.
If you found it useful share it. If you did not find it useful then move on.
If you found it offensive then flag me.

I've thought of sending you a nice letter to clear the matter up only to find this when I clicked on your link.

Is this what you mean by separuh Haram?

So my hater has turned into
So I guess...

Well, I'm just glad that there are those with me to help me through this in such a short time.
Malaysians, Aussies, Canadians, I thank you all.
Yes, even LordKadaj for the seemingly irrelevant but still a compliment non the less.

So here it is, my very 1st hater/troll experience...interesting.

P/S: New Update as of 5 August 2011. Link HERE
P/P/S: The dispute of Starbucks to me in this case is secondary. What is more important is my right to be more aware of other religions.

Les Fleurs

Will you escape with me for awhile?
Let's take a short walk.

Sometimes when my mood is down and I just feeling killing zombies, I try to channel the energy instead.
Since there we're no unicorns available for me to pet and it's been so scorching hot lately for any rainbows. I turn to flower power.

Pretty pink petals.
The humble blossom plant. I only have the pink variety. They come in a myriad of pure white, crimson red, royal purple, circus tent red and white and many more I've yet to graze my eyes on.
I do wish one can harvest these delicate petals as textile. Smooth and velvety to the touch yet light and airy. Perfect summer dress.

Like stars in the purple skies.
Purple is my favourite colour. I love the way how the little stars (stamen?) peep out from the petals so distinctly and yet not over powering. Almost like jewelry to enhance the beauty of the flower.
The mature and sturdy green of the leaves are a joy to touch. Covered in a blanket of fine tickling hairs so smooth. However I know not the name to this lovely breed.

*breathes*

Okay I feel a little better now. Hope this has put a little smile on your face too. Smile. Breathe. Tis another day to shine.
