A Night Unlike Others

WARNING: What you are about to read is in NO WAY fictitious or imaginary. It may be disturbing for some so reader's discretion is advised.

I was driving home with Ben. The moon was hiding behind thick comfy clouds. Only the thought of being in bed after a cleansing warm shower was on my mind.

Suddenly I spotted a white entity from the corner of my eyes. My heart swelled and froze before going on hyper drive. A cold chill shot through my tired body.

As quick as a flash IT hopped across the street. My fingers gripped on the steering wheel as I instinctively slammed the breaks.

Something came over me and a force in me decided to stop the car and give chase.

What was I thinking? What was I chasing? Did I survive?
(Duh...of course she did, you're typing this aren't you?) Are you sure?

*cue evil Japanese Lady Villain laughter to fade*

To all dear readers of Bonjour Glow~* care to take a guess at what Glow was chasing and why was she doing such a foolish act?

The truth is out there....in the next post.

Present from Neighbours

A few days ago our new neighbour called me when I was fiddling with some dirt in the garden.
She asked to meet at the front gate then proceeded to hand us a large pot of dirt...
With a beautiful rose plant in it of course.
And that is what I'm sharing with you guys today.

Altogether 7 lovely yellow blooms. We have the normal prickly red variety at home but this would make a charming addition. Is it true that the yellow variety have less thorns?
Anyhow I do hope that we can take good care of this one to enjoy more of the sunshiny blossoms.

Oh, some of you might be wondering why our neighbours did such a kind act.
Well actually...
let's not kiss and tell ^^

When was the last time you said hi to your neighbours...with a beaming smile?

Special Delivery

It's here! A special package from the Land of Oz. Alright, so it arrived a couple of days...maybe weeks back but it's never too late to share.

The beautiful Violet Lebeaux offered on Twitter to give out some of her old name cards instead of throwing them away. So I was curious to see how does a famous blogger name card looks like thus I humbly requested.

Wait, who is she?

If you are not familiar with her, Violet Lebeaux is one of Australia's famous darling blogger and an everyday princess who loves to DIY and make the world a pretty place. Check out her blog HERE.

Back to the package...

Not only did she posted a couple of her name card, but there was a sweet little message attached as well.

It's pretty simple and absolutely reflects our darling Ms Violet

Notice how she personalized her cards with cute ribbons? That is her style, cute and DIY. I hope her new ones turns out just as adorable.

Which makes me wonder, should I shart having my own blogger name card?
Would you take one if I did?

Happy Belated Malaysia Day

16th September 2010 has been declared as our 1st ever Malaysia Day. Different from our independence day, Malaysia Day is to celebrate the diversity of our country. Like a drooling plate of Rojak (a type pf delicious mixed salad enjoyed by every Malaysian.)

Malaysia Day has been promised a long time ago to our eastern sibling. 47 years ago to be exact. Why, I shall link you to more eloquent speaker HERE. So this is a grossly belated Malaysia Day.

As many Malaysians, any holiday is a good holiday regardless of reasons. Another excuse not to be at work but instead to celebrate, rest and brave the traffic jams to shopping complexes together is more then welcomed.

Here today I would like to share with you 2 videos. The 1st is a short and adorable commercial. Simple yet funny. Perhaps more so in the Malaysian context. A short ad by a local telco company called Digi really shows that us Malaysians are different but we are still the same.

The 2nd video is actually a full length film called Gadoh (Fight) that you will not see on TV or in the cinema because it is painfully truthful and honest and yet appeals to the optimist in me for a better Malysia. (Yes sadly there are people in big seats that think that their job is to protect the "fragile" Malaysian minds. pfft...). Iit is free so do spread it to your friends and if you really like it then grab a copy from Pusat Komas.

I think this brilliant blogger on k0k bL0k says it the best. Click HERE for a full review. Personally I love reading his BLOK as he often voices out what I sometimes fail to put into words. We need more people like him. And truthfully, it was him that got me to watch it.

Alright so enough of me ranting. Seat back, and enjoy.

Happy *way belated* Malaysia Day!~

*hugs*

Hard Rock Hotel: Wet Places

Alright. One last post on my Hard Rock Hotel Penang trip.

We've covered the hotel and now let's take a look around.

Lovely pool area. Good for lounging, sun bathing, relaxing.
In case you're wondering where are the people, I usually take these pictures early in the morning so as not to distract my dear reader and give you guys a clearer picture.

Fun slide! Even the mommy and daddy can join in the fun.

The rooms. notice the ones on the ground floor. Yes, the open directly to the pool. That's cool and yet a little disturbing at the same time.

Rock and sand pool. so clean and clear.

I found a flower.

Off to the beach? I literally skipped there. Yes, it's that near.

Hmm... my Pocahontas senses is telling me that this is not made by humans.

This on the other hand is.

Beautiful rising sun. Though the sun was rising on the other side it still cast a beautiful sight.

Morning to the Morning Glory.

Morning to the sea cat.

Morning to the bridge.

Morning to the dead fi...er...

Coconut tree trunk.

Tired so decided to lounge by the pool for a bit.

My lounging companion.
Gosh, I need to learn to model my hands, they look...weird here.

Alright, the sun is heating up so time for me to head back up and get ready for breakfast.

Me doing my thing, GLOW!

Food at Hard Rock Penang.

This post is dedicated to the food at Hard Rock cafe and Hotel in Penang.
Mind you, it was only Ben and i so we didn't have the stomach capasity to try out all the recommended goodies.

Now shall we begin at Hard Rock Cafe?
Just right next to the hotel is the cafe. where you ca chill and enjoy the live band playing while having a drink and scrumptious food.
WARNING: Portions here are definately BIG

We went for the set lunch offered that day, right before we checked in.

Not bad.

It was a scorching day so this was a welcomed sight. FREE 1 time refill.

Soup of the day: Onion soup.
I'm not a big fan of onions especially in the raw state but this was really yummy. not enough to share.

I ordered the 3 flavor stir-fried seafood with white fluffy rice.
Big yummy cuts of fish, mussels and sotong (calamari)

This was what Ben ordered.
Sorry you cant really see it but it was a whole lota meat: chicken, beef and lamb in 1 plate.
Ben has a big appetite but needless to say he was a little to ambitious for this platter.

Nicely stuffed, we gobbled up the ice cream and proceded to check in.

Click HERE to see how the rooms are.

Complimentary drinks straight from the bar. yes, the bar is connected to the reception ^^

Oh it's time for breakfast.

Bon appetit!

Sorry for the less then gorgeous photo at breakfast. Still getting used to taking photos with people wondering "What is this girl doing?"

Anyone care to teach me ninja photography?

Butterfly Farm, Penang

A continuation from the previous post of our stay at Hard Rock Hotel Penang, Batu Feringghi Click HERE to view that post.

Did you know that Batu Feringghi actually meant Foreigners Rock? Perhaps it due to the amount of tourist soaking up the sun, sea and sand.
But other then baking in the Straits of Malacca, there are a few places you can hide from the scorching sun. Our choice of sanctuary and entertainment,

Alright ready? Enjoy the lovely butterflies.

Immediately upon entering. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!

Poor thing.

Not bad shot, if I do say so my self, considering it's from my old canon ixus 70.

Star burst?

So cute.

Pitcher plant.

Can you spot me? I'm blending in.

Kawaii~

This for the guys, sleek and uber cool black butterfly.

Rajah Brooke, pride of Malaysia. The ones with a little white are the females and the mostly blacks are the males.

Creepy crawly caterpillars ~

It's not all leaf here. There's a leaf insect...can you spot it?

ZEGS have attacked Penang! Joking.

I previously blogged about this and Starcraft HERE

Sweet nectar.

Not just butterflies here, some other creepy crawly galore~

Love this decoration. It's by the bridge near the mandarin ducks.

No, you are not allowed to eat the butterflies, silly.

Lastly, on the way out

something horrible happened....

I was attacked!

But I lived to blog today thanks to my hero...

MY HERO!

All pictures taken with my humble... .

Canon Ixus 70. Yes, very humbly.

I'm off hunting for more local gems to explore. If YOU my dearest readers have any suggestions on must see places or must taste food especially in Penang, let me know in the comment box below.
