Lovely sunny weather so decided to bathed Lulou yesterday. I use to bathe my cats, Bob and Kitten indoors locked in the loo with limited space to run away from THE DREADED SHOWER HEAD! But now a days I prefer the fresh outdoors. Provided that the subject doesn't act like Tasmanian devil. After an hour "mud treatment" followed by bath time.
Yes she's a cat but oddly enough she would sit pretty still in a tub of water. "Good kitty..." Mind you she's not doing the back stroke or anything , could feel a slight tension in her body while I scrub and massage her but Lulou is generally a good kitty^^ Aside from the occasional granny groan, she's in and out in 15 minutes. Then off the the towel and hair dryer.
She used to freak out at the buzz of the hair dryer, a sound that Gucci and even Sky has learnt to love. Slowly she's adjusting. Though she still prefers to stay as close to me as possible least the hot air breathing monster blows her tail off.
Here are a few shots during her mud treatment. Not so muddy a day.
"Can you smell the tree spirit?"
"Hmm... intriguing"
Remember to take a bath today. Or shower, what ever floats your rubber duckie.
My father wears it and so does my siblings. My mom should but she's in denial. Ben and his whole family wears it as well. Everyone except me. Any guesses?
Based on an online patent company I now have a brand new spanking
: pair of lenses, a frame including two temple units and a bridge, and a connection mechanism. The connection mechanism includes a plurality of first connectors spacedly provided at the lenses at a predetermined location and a plurality of second connectors provided at a predetermined location of each of the temple units and the bridge respectively, wherein the second connectors are coupled with the first connectors respectively to couple the temple units at two outer sides of the lenses respectively and to couple the bridge between two inner sides of the lenses respectively in a tool-less manner.
Or quite simply put...
A pair of spectacles. Truth is I don't really need it. Not yet anyway. It's more of a precaution. I have a mild case of astigmatism.
Basically what that means is that I have difficulty in seeing fine details and lights seems especially glaring. One of the reason why I don't like driving at night. It's actually quite common! But perhaps many of us learn to live with it.
I have a slight case of short-sightedness on my left eye as well. Only my left, right is perfect. Why is that? o.O"
In my case, since starting work I tend to use the computer much more hence I decided to get my self a pair for office and night driving use. Perhaps I could use it as a fashion accessory as well ^^
I chose a black frame for that preppy intelligent look. Notice the pansy purple lining of the frame and a tiny fleur de lis accent on each side? Love it! What is a fleur the lis?
Basically it's a stylised Iris or Lily flower used as the armorial emblem of the kings of France! Royalty...
You have probably seen it as the scouts emblem! Familiar now? Hey it's purple here as well! But I wasn't in scouts, was in Red Crescent thought we always had some camps with the scout boys. Sharing knowledge of 1st aid and outdoor survival, thats all...
*Purple Rain playing on my comp at this very moment! Freaky~
But I digress, I'm still getting used to wearing something other than make up on my face and getting a slight headache which Ben says will never go away and I'll have to live with it -_-" Great doctor skills, but the optometrist assures me that it's just my brain and eyes getting use to it and should subside in a day or two.
What do you think? Any tips for this virgin four eyes?
To my roommates from university, I'm going to start eating raw kei chi again to see if my eyes will get better. Perhaps that was why even with all the midnight oil burning days my eyes were still fine.
This is Lulou about 8 months ago. So tiny, absolutely precious...
Long story short, Ben found her in the drain mewing for a couple of days. When he brought her to me I thought we were going to play with her for a while then return her to her mommy. Sad to say when we found mommy cat she didn't want our Lulou anymore. So we brought her back from Batu Pahat all the way to Subang! On the way, she left a little cocoa gifts on my new bag. She had been constipated for nearly a week...I admit I was furious and actually threatened to leave her at the rest stop! Fortunately consciousness set in and Ben washed my bag and calmed me down.
"What are you looking at?"
Lulou burning the midnight oil with Hubbie ^^
"This is MY human"
She's much larger now, able to stand her grown against Shih Tzu's and for now...even Baby Sky.
Lulou enjoying my new avocado tree.
She's now part of the family. Fed, protected and loved.
What's more romantic than the French who created such seductive words like as lingerie, amour, cheri, chocolate, bonbons, fromage~
Okay just about anything said in a low purring French accent can make a grown woman go weak in the knees.
I bought this little trinket a few months back. In actual fact, I had seen it sometime in early 2009 but due to time and financial constraints I couldn't get it. Well more of time as they had so many lovely music to choose from and I was in a hurry.
Yes it IS a musical box but rather than having the generic cliche 'Fur elise' or 'It's a small world after all'; no offence as they are lovely catchy melodies, but one yearns to be different/ special sometimes.
The music of my choice was 'Une chanson douce' by Henri Salvador who coincidentally passed away 13th of Feb 2008. So you could say this is a little tribute to him and my French lecturer Monsieur Severy who is still very much alive and kicking.
Jean, merci de nous forcer à apprendre cette chanson. Bien que je ne pourrais pas me rappeler les mots mais la mélodie s'attarde toujours dans mon esprit avec des pensées de vous.
Here is the video
And is the lyric.
{Variante pour les 2 derniers:}
There is a lovely meaning behind this soothing song. Yes it's meant to be a lullaby. A fairy tale of antagonistic wolves, the heroic knight and the lovely princess.
You can get this too if you can get to Sunway Piramid in Subang costing under RM50. I don't rightly know which shop it was but I stumbled upon it while browsing a knick-knack shop in the la-la land section. (Don't ask me why I was there) It's well worth the hunt for it as they have other lovely french songs as well.
I will definately try my best to learn this song and someday serenade it to my child.
If you want to hear it by the man himself and Celine here it is ^^ Love it.
Yes I AM a professional procrastinator. Not something I'm proud of but I won't deny it either. If there was a competition out there to see who is the worst, I mean "best" procrastinator out there I'll probably stand a chance of winning it. That is if I get around to filling in the forms, getting my credentials checked out and actually remember to get to the venue on time. But I digress.
Thou shalt pay. It's not easy to be a PP (professional procrastinator). It takes years of training to master the art form and it's not for everyone. One has to have a zen like capability to focus. Yes you heard me right, to focus on anything but the task at hand. It take a lot of will power as there will be those proactive people out there trying to preach to you the down fall out putting things to the last minute. RESIST or feign reform to get them out of your hair so that you can focus on what ever your need to not focus on the task.
Thou shalt think A little creativity could go along way as well. How else are you going to fill in your self proclaimed free time? Interested in knitting? Soap-box racing? What exactly is a smorgasbord? Be careful though, you wouldn't want to end up doing something as it'll defeat the code of procrastination. Just filling your brain with as much of mindless information as humanely possible is the mission here, NOT actually doing something close your ears PRODUCTIVE.
Thou shalt accept. The next thing you need is forgiveness and acceptance. Yes you know you probably shouldn't put off your assignment any longer but that is the way you are built. No point going through the torture of changing yourself, so mind as well just forgive yourself for any repercussions and accept the way you are and other fellow procrastinators.
Thou shalt upgrade. There are many ways to procrastinate. The age-old way was to day dream. Yes, to nurture the long forgotten side of you the no one else knows. But thanks to technology we no longer have to go through that hassle. Redundant information is just a click of the remote/ touch screen/ keyboard/ keypad away. That is the KEY to modern day procrastination. The old telly, internet, games, blogs, tweets and things that was suppose to make life easier has BECOME our life. Who cares about company productivity, final year projects, reports and assignments when the grand finale of Beauty and the geek is on? Will Paris ditch her "simple life" and FINALLY find her one true BFF? These becomes a matter of life and death.
Thou shalt play nice. Perhaps if the world was filled with more PPs then it would be a more peaceful place. War would not be waged as it would take too much time and work. Differences would be freely accepted as long as we have our free time. And think of all the knowledge we can accumulate?! We can be a society of thinkers instead of doers. A great civilisation of intellects to come up with even more ways to deplete pure minds in to mush. Therefore I urge all procrastinators to unite! someday~
Currently I'm undergoing an ongoing PPA (Professional Procrastinators Anonymous) It would seem that my acts of delaying has had great effects on my social, emotional, and most importantly financial conditions and that I can be far more successful and richer if I had focused on my life instead. So says my shrink and mother.
I recently got a new Samsung N220 netbook and so far I'm really happy! It's special as I've not seen many out there who have it. It's always Acer or HP , Dell, Sony or that fruit. No offence but so far I think that this model is the most affordable netbooks out there with out compromising on having the latest processor, quality and battery life.
Love the crystal casing where it doesn't highlight the dreaded fingerprints and the best feature? 9 hrs of batt life!!! Yes I know they promised 12 hours but with a little tweaking from hubbie, it runs for 9 hours on optimized mode! Pays to have a geek as a husband.
Sadly it came with a windows 7 STARTER! Which means you can't change the screen background. I know right? Some of you are probably going Oh dear!~ no swearing please~ but again credit to my genius hubbie, there are ways around it.
It's light enough for me to carry around in my Doremon bag. No, not literally, it's just that like many women, I have many wonderful and some magical items in my bag. Thus I can online at Starbucks during my shopping breaks as I peruse the web for some price comparisons or even continue my shopping from the virtual world. Woohoo!~
Last but not least here's a picture of my netbook. Some of you might laugh, gasp or cry over this. Some...
She walked in the field brushed with flowers enjoying the breeze in her hair she took a step and trampled a bloom unknown to her a murder she did the butterfly frowns and disapproves the mutter of beetles tsking away she didnt know she had created the path of sin lay behind her but a thorn still pierces through her heart there she stood afraid to move least another is added to the murderous list least another tsk is uttered towered by their disapproved glare she lays chained to the field of blooms of butterflies and beetles of thorns and unsourced guilt.
When I was about 18 years old I went on a Homestay programme in Japan. It was a cultural learning experience which I still cherish till this day. Knowing nothing about Japan at that time aside from Doremon and Sailormoon, we were given a crash course in Japanese language and culture(so as to avoid culture shocks on both parties I guessed). One of the most important phrase I think we learnt was "Tabemashio" meaning "Let's eat".
So here I shall post pictures of glorious tabemono (food) I encounter or create.
Let us start with something Japanese!
Yesterdays breakfast in the office:
Itadakimassu~
Unagi onigiri with a side of pickled ginger and wasabi, washed down with ocha (from Jusco)
I love UNAGI!! And yes I couldn't resist taking a bite first
Lunch:
Fried noodles with spicy stingray, cucumber and fried egg (from cafeteria)
I love EGGS!
Perhaps next time I shall post about food I've actually made myself ^^ but no promises that it'll turn out nice as I'm just learning.
My 1st attempt at cooking fried rice! Had some left over rice from dinner last night but only problem is...I don't really know what goes in to it. Yes over night rice, eggs, some meat, some vege but what seasoning to use? Soy sauce? Oyster sauce? well I didn't really know and decided to try and wing it. *fingers, toes, arms, legs and eyes crossed*
I rummaged through the fridge and came up with the usual suspects.
Other than overnight rice, onions, garlic, sausages and cabbage, I wanted to add a little zing in to my 1st fried rice thus I discovered spicy fermented tofu! Yummy ^^ Hey I was thinking of salted fish fried rice and this was the next best thing. A little salty, spicy, and funky it tastes great with plain porridge/congee as well! Okay, like century egg which I love as well, it's an acquired taste.
I added in some carrots for colour and soy sauce for taste...finally after 20 minutes....
TADAA!~
I packed this for my husband and tried to do it in a cute Japanese bento style but hehe..."A for effort" he say.
It's been about 2 months that we have brought our little piece of Sky home. He's no longer so little, now officially 5 months young and have had all of his vaccination.
He is ready for the real world!
But question is, am I? For the whole time he was with us we were bordering paranoid about letting him out for fear of catching anything from the big bad world out there as he hadn't had all his shots yet. So all exercises were carried out indoors and contact with anything that was deemed 'contaminated' was kept to a minimum. No we didn't went to the extent of turning Sky into a bubble boy. Couldn't find the right bubble size.
So today he was allowed out for a glimpse of what awaits him and truly he was exited! Everything was sniffed and licked. Every nook and cranny of our garden was probed by his snout.
Every movement had him on alert.
'My doggie senses are tingling!'
And that was enough. As if he knew his time out was up he trotted in to the house and plopped himself on a cool spot.
'Yes, I am pleased'
Unfortunately I started my new job in Janvier so *sigh* mummy has to go work. Therefore, like many modern day double-bread winners in a family, we decided to substitute our absence with TOYS!
Yes I know it's no excuse but we're working on it.
Here is Sky saying a short prayer thanking God for the existance of Kong toys, online shops and express postal deliveries, Amen~
*ngom
Doesn't he look er...(torn between ecstatic and crazy. You tell me)
So for now Sky has all our attention for 15 minutes in the morning, and about an hour of play time in the evenings.
Alrighty then thats all for now. Stay tuned for more adventures.
