Dear readers,
I come to you with a simple idea. Something which I find relates to me, as a holiday loving Malaysian.
We have on average 17 public holidays a year, and that's excluding regional holidays.
Sometimes different states declare their own holidays. Mostly revolving around our respective Sultans' (Royalty) birthdays. It get's a little confusing at times.
You see, the typical calendar found in most handphone/smartphone/computer/ipad can't cut it for me.
Remember these:
Ye ol' Reliable
Use to love tearing there out every morning to start the day.
Nostalgic and simple yet pack full with information.
We depends on the calender everyday, not only to tell what day it is but also to plan ahead our lives.
In Malaysia, a country celebrating a myriad of cultures, the Chinese and Muslim calenders are still widely refered to.

Just one scan and you can determine visually when the Golden holiday's start or ends. Does it apply to your state?
Another scenario
C: Oh that guy? He's born on the year of the rat.
D: Wait let me check the calender.
No way he's only 26?

I personally use the nifty zodiac reference quite often to determine peoples age.
You see, the current calendar apps are nice and well but it would be so much better if we Malaysianaise it.
Inject it with our own flavor and character.
Infusing the Chinese and Muslim calender with the western
Introducing...

The MaC App!
(Malaysian Calender Application)
The perfect marriage of old and new.
- Just use your finger and run it across the top to tear out a new page as you greet every new morning with the crisp sound of eliminating yesterday.
- No more confusion about which state celebrates which holidays IN Malaysia.
- Get a clear picture of month ahead with just one look. Best for those booking holidays on their iPad with the crazy prices of air flight tickets, EVERYONE CAN FLY!
- In fact you can use it to set your own appointments and even declare your own holidays!
How awesomely ol' school is that?

@Kahmon same here! I guess necessity is the mother of all invention ^^
innovative idea! all the best! :)
awesome I love it! Here's a few things you can add:
1. keep the tearing notion in place where the animation of the calendar is like how you tear it!
2. Would love the old skool 1 day 1 paper kind of calendar. makes it look retroawesome!
3. voice animation telling you what you got for the day!
but all in all, friggin awesome idea!
