Hotel Review: Hard Rock Hotel

Have a ROCKING TIME! said Charmaine. As many of you know, Hard Rock Hotels have really cool staffs. Featured here is the Hard Rock Hotel Penang in Batu Ferhinggi.

Shall we go straight to the room?

Comfy bed with 300 thread count bed linen. At least thats what written here. I think it means more thread more comfort as the beds were very very soft.

Television and radio. If you have an ipod the're a dock you can connect it to the radio.

Simple decoration and funky carpet.

How inviting is the outdoors.

The details Hard rock put in is amazing. It's like playing "Spot the Mickey" sometimes.

Here's more!
Cool bottles.

Loads of snack.
Let's move on the my favorite part of any hotels, la salle de bains

Simple toiletries provided. No toothbrush but in case you forgot, you can get them at the convenience store near the lobby.

This by the way was my outfit. Tartan seems to appeal to me right now.

The mighty throne.

Lovely mirror. But wait. I can see the bed from here. yes, it's like a window.

For those of you who would like some more privacy, don't worry. Just slide the mirrors out and voila!

Don't worry, he's blind so he cant see a thing^^

Simple shower with a rain shower head above. Not happy with this picture because...there s no bathtub.

Sigh, let's move on to the view.

To the left, a lovely water bar area.

Right in front, a family fun time and the beach.

To the right, perfect restaurant with a view of the sun set.

WARNING

Ray and the Jazzhats were fantastic as we were enjoying his sultry voice from our bedroom till about 12 am. But to those weary travelers, make sure to let them know you want a quiet room.

That's all I got from the hotel. Over all I think it was a little overpriced. No tub, bad wireless and lack of attention to details. The reading lights were not working, some handles were loose.

If they can fix that then I would definitely give this place a try again. For Rays' sake.

But wait. We're not done yet. We're going to the beach.

Yes, we are blissfully in love.

Sand, sea and foam.

Beach goers with water activities ranging from banana boat rides, jet skis to para-sailing. There were horses we spotted in the distance too.
Time to hunt for food.

On the way out, saying hi to the Only King Of Pop

We were looking for the butterfly farm first as we weren't hungry yet. Almost immediately we found it. really easy to spot, 9 o'clock at the round about.

Feeling rather adventurous while the sun was still up, we continued driving up the hill. Passes a dam, fruit farm and out of no where a durian shack.

It loked rather scary in the twilight as there were no one around except for a couple of really expensice cars, so before anything hapens we took a U-turn and skedadle out of there.

Stopped at a dam nearby to take some pictures. Being nice Malaysians we helped 2 Germans find their way to Mermaid Cove by translating the directions given by the guard. Yes there is a guardian of the dam.

Adventures sure makes us hungry. Appetite whetted we headed to the END OF THE WORLD.

Yes, there is a chinese sea food restaurant called just that. Why? according to the Lao Pan Liang (Female boss) 30 years back the restaurant was further in batu feringhhi are and a caucasions said that it was at the end of the world. That man was also a close friend of the family, hence the name.

No pictures of the shop front as it was pouring buckets but it's real easy to find. remember the round about earlier. It's right there between 12 and 3 o'clock. Can't miss it.

Straight to the food.

Garlic steamed huge lalahs. Only RM12+ for these lovelies.

Sweet and sour crabs. Price according to season.

And our favorite, lobster. RM50 per 100g

Next up is our trip to the Butterfly Farm. Get ready for insects and colours galore.
