Miraku

Welcome to...

Ben and I love food, especially Japanese food. And moving from Subang Jaya, where there are too many delicious and affordable Japanese food, to a small town in Kedah with not even a Mac D is quite challenging. Sushi King doesn't cut it for us.

So here we are ready to dive in and quench our cravings.

A little starter of some fried tofu, carrot and something sourish. Opens up the appitite as the Chinese saying goes.

I fail as a paparazzi I know, had a little cocktail to start the evening and here is one of the many well trained chef in Miraku.
We kept starring at the chef. It was like watching a show as they prepare the food. The skill and quick rhythm was excellent. We managed to see them prepare some really expensive dishes as well. We could only eat it with our eyes.

One of our favorite Japanese restaurant is Zen in Sunway Pyramid, Subang. Affordable, fresh and good ambiance. But alas we're too far away so here is a tribute to Zen.

Healthy start with some Kani salad.

Salmon belly shashimi.

To those who are going "ew..." Honey, good quality fresh shashimi is anything but fishy, you've been eating the wrong stuff.

Grilled scallops.

Some beef platter for the carnivore in Ben. Quite yummy especially with the fried garlic I hate raw garlic and sauce.

Korokke!

Hotate mentai. Scallop shells were HUGE think of Ariel but sadly it was only made up of 3 smaller sized scallops drowned in a sea of yummy melted cheese.

Usually I'll order the unagi set but guess we'll save it for another trip. Nice full meal...Onaka ipaidesu!~

Lastly,

Me, at a GLOWING Japanese garden poster
