Incidentally "Koh" in Thai means island and Samui in Japanese means cold but this lil island is far from cold. If anything it's hot Hot HOT!
It took only about 2 hours which I had calculated would have taken only 45 mins from Penang but hey, beggars can't be choosers.
TOUCH DOWN! immediately we were greeted with Thai hospitality. A buggy was waiting to ferry the passengers of the strip! Already you can feel relaxed. From there we were whisked away by the friendly hotel driver to out destination.
LOVE BHUNDHARI!!! Just 10 mins drive away from the airport but you'll never realise it ever. Love the gold and magenta colours of the hotel. And the lovely lady whose name I forgot. She's a student from Europe working part-time here. Oh yes, the staff are really attentive any time you call there will be someone there to help you. even 4a.m!
Quick info bout Bhundhary, the name carries the meaning of lotus or water lily in Sanskrit and it's right on a hill slope leading to the beautiful beach. Bhundhari is also just 10 mins drive from the town of Chaweng but you wouldn't even realise as it's totally feels like your in a quiet, tranquil haven. Off we go to our room.
One day, my bed room will be inspired by this^^ Love the warm bold colours. The black, gold and magenta blend so well and far from being gloomy it's absolutely sultry and romantic
Narrow but wonderfully built bathroom. there's even the skyline! Yups it's natural white light.
Look at the sink! Au naturel^^and there's a surprise
There's a large window connecting the bathtub and the bed room. Talk about free excess. Ben doing his best "Come hither look." Enough with the bedroom let's take a look at the view. Take a deep breath and feast your eyes...
To our right the sea. Can you feel the salty sea breeze?
To our front, the lobby.
After about 30mins of oh-ing , ah-ing and unpacking off we went back the lobby for our free ride into town.
Here's our nice comfy ride. 3 times a day so if you plan well you can save a tidy sum. Off for some adventure.
Following our noses, into a random alley to try out some local delicacies for our 1st nom. We started uptown so no worries about unsavoury surprises just yet.
Tom Yum stir fry prawns with rice.
Stir Fry glass noodle. Yes its CKT but we had no idea as the menu didn't have any pictures -_-"
After a nice long walk and a massage WE LOVES BODY MASSAGES!!!!! we couldn't resist it.
Yeah, we're weaklings and afraid of the almighty frying sun. After another few hours of walking the sidewalks back to the 7-11 for our pick up.
Spot the Ben.
Let's see if you can guess what this is....any ideas?
How cool is this. I've only read about it in the newspaper. Let banking come to you. Yes ladies and gentlemen, a mobile bank.
In the evening we were back out again scouring the streets.
The streets was alive with food! Yums..but no, we were after some bigger fishes. and that fish deserves a post all on it's own. That all for now. Many more pictures and experiences to blog about so stay tuned!
